The holidays are right around the corner, and there is still plenty of time to get those last-minute gift shopping. As you finalize your shopping list, why not support the businesses right in your community? Instead of traveling far for your shopping needs, check out a corridor near you to see their offerings. When you shop at local businesses, you are investing directly in the people around you. In a time when large corporations often dominate the marketplace, choosing to shop locally ensures that the money spent circulates within the community. |

3rd Annual Small Business Saturday |
|
|
We celebrated our 4th Annual Small Business Saturday on November 30th. It was a day dedicated to supporting and uplifting local businesses in the community. The event started with a series of engaging financial literacy sessions held in various corridors, where participants had the chance to learn from industry experts. Then in the afternoon, we had a pop-up market with vendors showcasing their products and services. To wrap up the day, we hosted a roller skating event at Rockaway Parkway.
We would like to thank all the businesses, merchants, industry experts, pop-up market vendors, and organizations that played a crucial role in making this event a success. Their contributions and support truly made a difference and helped create a memorable occasion for all attendees.
A special thank you to Jennifer V. Horsford for her continued support of Small Business Saturday over the past four years. She has consistently participated in the event and we appreciate it. |

We encourage you to support local businesses by continuing to shop locally. Additionally, your support helps create local jobs and keeps money circulating within the community, ultimately benefiting everyone who lives and works there. So next time you're looking for something to buy or do, remember to think local first.
We are passionate about giving back to the community and making a positive impact for everyone to benefit from. To achieve our goals, we rely on the dedication and commitment of our volunteers. If you are interested and have a desire to make a difference, we have a wide range of volunteer opportunities waiting for you.
Currently, in our community, we are hosting a series of block meetings with the primary objective of listening and understanding the needs and concerns of local merchants. These meetings serve as an essential platform for direct engagement between our organization and the business community. By having open communication, we aim to gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by merchants. |
