Happy Black History Month |
Happy Women's History Month! This month is a time to celebrate the remarkable achievements and contributions of women throughout history. It invites us to reflect on the countless women who have paved the way in various fields. |

March marks a significant milestone as we celebrate five years of organizing as a merchant association. We have united local businesses under a common goal: to promote economic growth, support one another, and enhance the overall vibrancy of our community. We are thankful for the role the community plays in supporting our events and for the dedication of our volunteers to the association. Our success would not have been possible without the support of Senator Roxanne J. Persaud, who has been with us from the very start. We also extend our gratitude to Jennifer Viechweg-Horsford for her continous support of our events, including our clean-up initiatives and financial literacy programs for Small Business Saturday. |

On Saturday, February 8th Snipes had their soft opening. As a welcome to the corridor, we provided them with our CMA Bags and Map Of Canarsie for the manager and employees. We are excited that Snipes has filled one of the vacancies. We look forward to seeing more businesses occupy the remaining vacancies. |

SBS Visit to Rockaway Parkway |
On Wednesday, February 26th, Senator Persaud collaborated with the Small Business Services (SBS) to bring their mobile unit to Rockaway Parkway. This initiative aimed to provide valuable resources and guidance to both aspiring entrepreneurs and established business owners in the community. The mobile unit served as a hub of information, offering insights into business development, financing options, and other support services. We had the opportunity to be a vendor, where we shared more about CMA and welcomed our new interns from Medgar Evers College to the team. |

CMA had a wonderful time attending the M/WBE Borough Forum last Friday. The event was not only engaging but also informative, offering guidance on the process of signing up as a M/WBE. Attendees had the opportunity to connect directly with a variety of service providers through a tabling session, allowing them to seek assistance and advice tailored to their business needs. It was great to see merchant members and community partners in attendance as well. |

As we approach March, we are beginning to see some of the daffodils we planted over the years start to bloom. We are excited to continue our tradition of the daffodil scavenger hunt. While you are out walking or biking along the corridors, take a moment to look for daffodils in the tree beds. Make sure to share them with us on social media using the hashtag #CanarsieDaffodilWatch2025 |

We encourage you to support local businesses by continuing to shop locally. Additionally, your support helps create local jobs and keeps money circulating within the community, ultimately benefiting everyone who lives and works there. So next time you're looking for something to buy or do, remember to think local first.
We are passionate about giving back to the community and making a positive impact for everyone to benefit from. To achieve our goals, we rely on the dedication and commitment of our volunteers. If you are interested and have a desire to make a difference, we have a wide range of volunteer opportunities waiting for you. |
