This awareness encourages everyone to work together to care for nature and use resources wisely. In the end, being aware of our impact helps ensure that future generations have a healthy planet to live on.

4th Annual Urban Community Gardening Initiative

Thank you to everyone who cam out to support and attend our 4th Annual Urban Community Gardening Initiative yesterday. The day focused on inspiring everyone to take the initiative to grow their own home gardens using the starter kits we provided. Each kit included seeds, compost, potting soil, and instructions to get started. We had many gardening enthusiasts eager to get started, and even beginners were excited to give it a try.

Thank you, Taylor Chambers, for the salad demonstration you provided for the community using the same ingredients we distributed. This was Taylor's third year joining us in supporting this event, and we appreciate her dedication to promoting a healthier lifestyle in the community.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers for their commitment and support in making our events successful. This day wouldn’t have gone perfectly without our fantastic community partners who came out to support us with resources and services. Thank you for your continuous support of the merchant association.

Seaview Avenue Corridor Walk

On Tuesday, NYC Best In Your Community brought SBS services directly to businesses for a Corridor Walk on Seaview Avenue. This was an excellent opportunity to engage with merchants and listen to their thoughts and concerns as they continue to build their business. In April we will host another Corridor Walk in the other plazas.

March Business Networking Event

We hosted our March Business Networking event in partnership with SCORE on Wednesday. Attendees had the opportunity to network, exchange insights, and hear from experienced mentors who provided guidance on various aspects of running a business. We truly appreciate everyone who came out to support this initiative, as your participation helps strengthen our business community and fosters collaboration. Thank you to M & M Delights for providing the food and refreshments. Thank you to Brooklyn Legal Services for coming to table at the event. If you missed the event, stay tuned for the next one.

Daffodil Scavenger Hunt

As we approach March, we are beginning to see some of the daffodils we planted over the years start to bloom. We are excited to continue our tradition of the daffodil scavenger hunt. While you are out walking or biking along the corridors, take a moment to look for daffodils in the tree beds. Make sure to share them with us on social media using the hashtag #CanarsieDaffodilWatch2025

Clean and Green Team

Join the Clean Corridor challenge. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in the spring season. High school students will receive community service hours.

Additionally, your support helps create local jobs and keeps money circulating within the community, ultimately benefiting everyone who lives and works there.
